Tom Tom Club est un groupe américain fondé en 1981 par Chris Frants et Tina Weymouth comme un projet a part de leur groupe principal, les Talking Heads. Plusieurs des musiciens qui jouaient comme invités avec Talking Heads dans cette époque font parti de Tom Tom Club (et la plupart y est toujours).
"Genius of Love" est paru dans leur premier album "Tom Tom Club" (1981). C'est un de leurs titres a plus fort succès.
