Ben Lee (11 Septembre 1978) est un musicien et acteur australien, en activité depuis 1993. Après un début en 1993 avec le groupe "Noise Addict", il commence sa carrière solo en 1995 avec un premier album "Grandpaw Would". Certaines de ses
chansons sont réutilisés dans les bandes sonores des films ("There's Something About Mary", "Best Men", "Just Friends", "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo", ...) et programmes télé ("Grey's Anatomy", "hidden Palms", "Scrubs",... ).

Un de ses plus grands succès internationaux est "Catch My Disease", chanson parue dans son album "Awake Is the New Sleep" (2005). Ceci est une chanson aux vibes humoristiques et très positives et c'est justement la maladie qu'il vous invite a rattraper (c'est bien avant le covid). J'aime bien les paroles où il parle de certains groupes et musiciens qui passent à la radio mais pas lui mais c'est comme ça qu'il l'aime. Ça m'a fait penser tout de suite a "Walking on Sunshine" de Katrina and the Waves et "Don't Worry Be Happy" de Bobby McFerrin.

Musicalement, toute la chanson est jouée sur la même progression: I - ii - IV - V. Le rythme (un peu syncopé dans les couplets et plus carré dans le refrain), l'arrangement et surtout l'interprétation vocale évitent que cela sonne ennuyant.
